## The four foundations

## URL conventions
Every concept has a canonical URL of the form
`https://emergencemachine.com/tools/lexicon/what-is-the-meaning-of-<id>` where `<id>` is
`term.sense` — senses are keyed separately, so `operation.math` and
`operation.surgery` are different concepts.

Machine-readable formats for every concept:
- `…/what-is-the-meaning-of-<id>` — HTML
- `…/what-is-the-meaning-of-<id>.json` — structured record (definition,
  emergence components, examples, computed level, provenance)
- `…/what-is-the-meaning-of-<id>.md` — plain markdown, no navigation
- `…/context/<id>.json` — resolved context for conversational agents:
  components and dependents as terms rather than ids, plus the full chain to
  the foundations, so an assistant can answer without walking the graph.

## What makes this different from a dictionary
Each entry states what the concept *emerges from* (its components), *through
what interaction*, and *what is novel* about it — properties present in no
component alone. Following components downward always terminates at space,
time, energy or pattern.
